Nesting...

So I have read, heard and witnessed the "nesting" part of pregnancy and now I am actually experiencing it! Thank goodness for a couple weeks off to prepare the house for Tucker as his arrival should be in the next 7 weeks...YIKES & YAY. His due date it just 6.5 weeks away but Jordan and I will be surprised if he is on time or early (as JJ and Jordan were both extremely late babies!).  If you know me well, you know that I like to organize to the point of it being extremely annoying (OCD-ish) so nesting has been fun! Grandparents, family and friends have already started spoiling this little boy and we are excited to spend more time with family and friends during the month of January as they continue to bless us and our little guy. So far, here are pictures of my (and my assistant's) progress.

This is in the entry of our bathroom hall and MA closets...He will spend some time in Jordan's baby crib before moving to the nursery.

Such a cute cradle and set!

My crafty sister-in-law who has an almost two year old and is pregnant with our first nephew (due just weeks after Tucker!) made these for us for Christmas and we LOVE them! We left room for more...hint hint :)

The almost complete set up...

Poor Jordan lost his mancave couch...had to do some re-arranging!
The mancave ended up with the desk (which was where Tucker's cradle is), the nursery's old bed, and a rocker so I have a quiet place to go during the middle of the night shifts!

My Uncle Jim (dad's side) made this for me when I was in junior high and we painted it red for Tucker's room, love the splash of color!

This was clearly Jordan's, made by his grandaddy.  It was sanded and stained by Tucker's grandaddy and daddy!

Thank you Grandma Nellie for the cute sport "Tucker Scott" piggy bank (aka-college fund collection jar).

The teether was once Jordan's, handmade from one piece of wood! Tucker's pops (Grandpapa Tim) made the UGA name-Jordan LOVES it!

More treasures from Jordan's childhood!

The car was Jordan's growing up, however, the baseball clearly came from Grandpapa Tim!

Oh my gosh, how cute is that????!!!!
Quite a lot done in just 24 hours! To think, these were all in boxes just the day before (check an earlier post for a picture!)

Babies R Us had a decent sale on wipes and diapers...we stocked up!

I love that Jordan's baby toys fit perfectly in this room, it will certainly be adorable to see Tucker playing with his daddy's childhood toys.

I love this bookend...

This piece of furniture was a thorn in our side! Well mostly Chuck and Jordan's but hey, it looks good now!

Oh how we love craigslist....

I would like one of these fluffy car seat covers for myself please!

Oh and I love our consignment shops (not only do we find great finds but we also sold enough of our junk to get this for free!!!!)

Jordan's high chair...it may be a while, but I am excited to see Tucker sitting there!

So much fun stuff done (some of it wasn't really that much fun, for instance painting and putting furniture together) and so much left to do! We have a few projects up our sleeves, a few fun showers this next month and some cute things to hang....I am super excited and filled with anticipation as I think about Jordan and I meeting our lil guy in just a few weeks!

Our Four Legged Babies!

We don't post enough about our little pups (and I'm sure come February, it may be even less) but I wanted to post a few cute pics of our play time. I've been trying to get them used to the nursery and that it is a safe and fun place, also trying to train Penny to stop jumping on anyone that comes to visit (don't want her jumping all over Tucker in his carseat!). Preparing to introduce our lil' guy to these precious babies is so important to us and if you have any suggestions-please share!

Grandparents will be bringing home blankets that smell like Tucker and us so hopefully that can prepare them for his arrival! I really can't wait to see how cute Kota and Penny are with this little guy.  Kota is kind of the mother dog, she loved playing mom to our foster kitties last summer and I'm sure she won't leave Tucker alone. Penny, well she is more interested in Tucker's toys-she is kind of a baby herself, so we will see how that goes.

Kota is helping me "nest"

Penny is anticipating a super mom throw so she can chase her new soccer ball

This is Kota's "please pet me" look

Please hurry up Tucker! I want to play with you!

This is going to be my baby.

Aaaaw..

Do these shoes fit?

Kota is warming up the rocker :)  I'm sure she will spend many hours here!

Hey-don't forget to take a picture of my cute face!

It has been nice to spend some relaxing time with these girls. I can't believe we adopted Kota almost 4 years ago! She is such a laid back an awesome pup, can't imagine life without her! Penny, on the other hand, keeps us on our toes.  We found her over a year and a half ago, running around the park and after weeks of searching for her owner, she became ours! These two have truly blessed J and I and we are so thankful for those out there that support adoption!

Christmas!

We were blessed to celebrate Christmas Eve with Jordan's parents and sister, as well as the four Howe pups.  Spending time preparing a delish meal (mostly prepared by Darlene) and then heading off to church to celebrate the real reason we can be full of joy this time of year-the coming of our savior.

Christmas morning was also spent with the Howe fam bam! We were able to skype with my mom and dad (and Grandma and Grandpa Leach) clear in Washington and are super excited about our corn hole and bocce ball sets (it is going to be a fun spring!!!) as well as the CUTEST Underarmour sweatsuit and Adidas tennies for the Tuckster. I also got to talk to my brother and niece on the phone-they told me that Tucker was going to have a little boy cousin coming in April-ish! Woo Hoo! Tucker will have a best friend cousin just weeks younger than he is!

After opening presents that morning, we went and saw Les Mis (I loved it-and my expectations were very high!).  I did not spend the whole time singing, may have cried a few times (I'm pregnant! I did cry throughout the book and musical though too). The Howes spend Christmas night allowing me to "nest" as I am preparing for a little guy in just weeks!

Here are some pictures of Christmas morning (wish I had some of the afternoon with my parents but we were busy skyping and this pregnant woman can't handle too much at once right now!).

Kota and Daisy are ready Santa Lacey!

Uh Oh....Puppies like presents too!

Penny loves her new soccer ball

Pretty Cali

Puppies and raw hides=puppy heaven!

Such a gorgeous tree! Jordan picked it out this year!!

I was so excited that Jordan couldn't get the camera focused!

another envelope? YAY!

Oh My Goodness! There are pictures of our baby furniture in all these envelopes! AAAAHHHH! I think my face explains it all!

Very excited mommy and daddy right there...thank you Howe fam!

I kept asking-when do we get to pick it up? Little did I know, it had been out in Lacey's car the whole time!
What a great Christmas! It was very special to spend it with Chuck, Darlene, Lacey, Calli and Daisy as well as my own sweet family. I really missed my northwest family, especially for the traditions I've made growing up with mom, dad and jj but I will get to see them soon-very soon! The countdown until Tucker arrives has begun-45 days until his due date and not long after we will be coming to visit.  Until then, I have plenty of nesting to do, national boards to prepare and a Master's class to finish....Nursery pictures are next-so stay tuned!!
